Julie Mankinen, PT, OCS, FAAOMPT is Symmetry Physical Therapy's owner and founder. Julie has been practicing in Austin since graduating from Texas State University's Physical Therapy Program in 1997. She is an accomplished Orthopedic and Manual Physical Therapist, recognized by the American Physical Therapy Association's Board of Specialty Practice as an Orthopedic Certified Specialist. Julie is also a tenured Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapists – a distinction earned by a post-graduate residency and fellowship that is only awarded to a select group of therapists. Julie enjoys working with a broad range of orthopedic patients, including those with 'difficult' or complicated cases. She has special interests in spine care and foot/ankle injury rehabilitation, but also likes working with patients with other upper and lower extremity injuries.
Julie brings a broad background of clinical and administrative experience to Symmetry Physical Therapy. She is recognized in Austin as a mentor and a resource for her clinical expertise. She has been a clinical instructor for graduate and post-graduate students for multiple years, and has also taught multiple professional seminars on several manual therapy and orthopedic topics to other therapists across the nation. She was honored with the Clinical Instructor of the Year award in 2011. Julie has served in administrative leadership roles for over 10 years in both corporate and private practice settings and has managed Symmetry's practice since 2012. She maintains an active role in the American and Texas Physical Therapy Associations – advocating for the ongoing development of high-level physical therapy practice that is accessible to the community as an important health-care benefit.
Julie's strong combination of clinical and business expertise bring balance to Symmetry Physical Therapy – creating an environment that consistently produces high levels of clinical treatment outcomes and patient satisfaction with the global therapy experience.
Brad Bevil, PT, DPT, OCS earned a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from Southwestern University in Georgetown, Texas in 2008, and a Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT) from Texas State University in 2015. He is proud of Symmetry's commitment to clinical excellence and outstanding patient care. Brad completed a Manual Therapy Certification (MTC) through Evidence in Motion, and in 2018 obtained a Board Certification in Orthopaedics (OCS) through the American Physical Therapy Association's Advanced Licensing Board.
Having been a physical therapy patient multiple times during his college baseball career, Brad understands the frustrations that come along with being injured or in pain. He enjoys working with patients to establish an individual rehab plan that addresses their goals, and is passionate about helping others improve their level of physical function, whether that be preparing to get back on the sports field, returning to work, or simply being able to enjoy life.
Brad is as of the Fall of 2024 providing patient care full-time from Symmetry's satellite clinic location in Georgetown, where he serves as Clinic Director. Brad's orthopedic manual therapy practice expertise and special interest in providing primary musculoskeletal health care will provide an excellent resource for patients of all ages in the rapidly-growing Georgetown / Round Rock region.
Seth Blankenship, PT, DPT earned a Bachelor of Science in Pre-Physical Therapy, Exercise and Sport Science from the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor in Belton, TX. During his time at UMHB, he also played football for 2 seasons. Seth received his Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT) from Texas State University in Round Rock, TX. He joined Symmetry in Spring of 2023. Seth is currently working towards obtaining a post-doctorate National Physical Therapy Board Certification in Orthopedics. He is excited to be a part of the Symmetry Physical Therapy team and to invest in patients to help them reach their goals, as well as to contribute to the clinic’s commitment to excellence in practice and in customer service.
Seth was introduced to the world of physical therapy after becoming a patient during his high school football days. This experience inspired him to make a difference in the lives of others, as his physical therapist did for him. Seth understands how devastating injuries can be and has personally experienced the frustrations that come along with the rehabilitative process. He enjoys treating a wide range of musculoskeletal disorders and tailoring individual rehabilitation plans to address a patient’s specific personal goals. Seth’s goal is to help clients to be able to move more efficiently so that they can achieve optimal performance within whatever phase of life they are looking to optimize. He is passionate about helping others improve their level of physical function and equipping them with the tools and skills needed to continue being successful on the court or field, on the job, or simply enjoying life with family and friends.
Terri Marr Becklein, PT, MSPT earned a Bachelor of Corporate Management from Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton, Florida and a Master’s in Physical Therapy from Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale. She has extensive experience in outpatient orthopedics, with a strong emphasis on the mind-body connection to promote holistic healing. Terri holds professional Certifications in Pilates, Tai Chi, and Yoga. She is dedicated to helping patients to achieve independence in their health journeys through personalized and proactive care. Terri particularly enjoys working with adults that are challenged by balance disorders and unsteadiness resulting from illness or past injury. She integrates core stabilization principles and attention to total body alignment into her treatment design.
Terri lives in Round Rock, Texas. Outside of her professional life, she enjoys spending quality time with her husband, daughter, & dogs. Her family loves engaging in outdoor activities such as traveling, zip-lining, kayaking, and swimming.
Braden Harrison, PT, DPT earned a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Science from Texas A&M University in College Station, TX. Braden received his Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT) from Angelo State University in San Angelo, TX. He joined Symmetry Physical Therapy in the Summer of 2024. Braden has plans to continue to build upon his skills by pursuing a post-doctorate National Physical Therapy Board Certification in Orthopedics. Braden also has goals of becoming certified in concussion treatment/management as well as Titleist Performance Institute (TPI) certified to treat golfers of all skill levels.
Braden decided to become a Physical Therapist after multiple back and shoulder injuries in high school while playing baseball that were managed by a dedicated Physical Therapist. Since then, Braden has been driven to return that favor to the community and provide high quality and evidence-based care to the general population so that they can return to their daily and recreational activities. Braden is excited to join the Symmetry Physical Therapy team so that he can empower his patients to take control of their journey of recovery.
Dawn Johnson, Office Manager is an Austin-area native. With over 15 years of experience in physical therapy administration, Dawn brings a wealth of expertise and organizational skill to her role as Office Manager for Symmetry’s Austin and Georgetown clinic locations. Throughout her career, she has demonstrated a deep commitment to ensuring smooth and efficient office operations, from managing patient schedules to overseeing administrative processes and supporting clinical teams. Dawn’s extensive experience in the healthcare sector allows her to balance the intricacies of creating positive ongoing patient relationships with the demands of office management with exceptional attention to detail.
Outside of her professional life, Dawn is a proud mother of six and grandmother of six. She enjoys spending time with her husband, family, and friends, as well as relishing moments at the Austin-area lakes or on the beaches of Mexico to unwind and recharge.
Dawn is passionate about creating a positive, efficient environment that benefits both staff and patients. Her warmth and humor are integral elements of the welcoming atmosphere of the clinic, helping both patients and staff feel at ease and supported.
Ginnifer Joe, Office Coordinator is a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin, with a Bachelor’s Degree of Fine Arts in Dance and a Bachelor of Science in Public Relations. Ginnifer's dance and communications background has sparked their passion for movement rehabilitation, both for physical and mental health. They are currently studying Dance Movement Therapy and Couples and Family Therapy at Antioch University. They are also expanding their knowledge of the medical and therapeutic field from an administrative perspective as part of Symmetry’s front office team.
